RE: Overview of March 15-17 Meeting and Briefing Book Volume 12

In the current period the staff (and Committee) are continuing to
work on the completion of data gathering, the contemporary research
projects, and the preparation of the final report.

In this Briefing Book, we update documentary evidence related to
decision making about potential exposure of civilians to fallout (Tab
H-1), debate between the Defense Department and Los Alamos/Atomic
Energy Commission regarding experimenation at atomic bomb tests (Tab
H-2), and proposed experimentation related to the Nuclear Energy
Propulsion for Aircraft (Tab H-3). In an earlier mailing, we sent a
copy of the UCSF Ad Hoc Committee Report on Plutonium Injection
Experiments (Tab F-1 - F-3), and include here brief comments on the
UCSF findings, prepared by staff (Tab F-4).
